Uniting NSW.ACT and the UNSW Social Policy Research Centre have embarked on a 10-year partnership to produce an annual Families Report. The aims of the 10-year project are to:

  • examine the reality of family life in Australia
  • foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diversity within our communities, and
  • explore what it means to raise children and young people.

The flagship ‘Uniting Families Report 2024’ analyses the Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) and Census data to provide insights into the diversity of families in Australia and how their experiences differ according to their family type. Each year a new report will focus on specific aspects of family life that require more research or examine new and emerging issues for families.

Co-author Dr Megan Blaxland is one of the chief investigators on our project.
